New business centre acquisition in Rosyth will provide boost for West Fife economy
Liberty Business Centres – the independent Fife based serviced office specialist – has successfully acquired a new business centre in Rosyth with a capacity for over 50 offices.
The purchase of the former Workzone office block from interim owner Scarborough Muir, who are spearheading the major Rosyth waterfront redevelopment project, will complement Liberty’s existing serviced business centre in Dalgety Bay that holds 34 offices.
Renamed as Rosyth Business Centre, Liberty is now embarking on a major marketing drive to attract new businesses into the premises.
Jerry Alexander, Managing Director, said: “We are currently undertaking a significant renovation of the Rosyth Business Centre so as to create a wide range of cost-effective serviced office accommodation, as well as space for light industrial use and storage.
“The success of our business model has been based on offering lower rental rates than some of the more national business accommodation providers, and providing flexible terms, tailored to the specific requirements of each business.
The new business centre will offer a diverse range of accommodation, from offices for one or two people to much larger office space that can comfortably hold up to 20 personnel or more.
Rosyth Business Centre also boasts a theatre-style conference room and a meeting room facility, which will be promoted to businesses and organisations for training courses, seminars, presentations and conferences. Other services include equipment and document storage, as well as administrative support.

Rapid expansion for West Fife start-up company as householders opt for conversions
A new West Fife company that specialises in converting garages into living space has seen business soar as recession hit householders decide to extend their properties rather than move home.
Gain a Room Ltd was only set up in January this year by directors Alan Duncan and Dean Mackenzie, but because of ‘phenomenal’ demand for garage conversions, they have already had to move into a bigger office at their base at Liberty Business Centres in Dalgety Bay.
They have also employed an office administrator and taken on two full-time fitting teams to carry out the conversion work.
Alan Duncan, who is from Rosyth, said: “The demand for this kind of conversion work has been phenomenal and the business has really taken off. We are finding that in the current economic climate many people are opting to enlarge their current homes rather than move house.”
Alan said they had been helped greatly in their rapid expansion by the flexibility of Liberty Business Centres in enabling them to quickly upgrade to a larger office and by offering favourable rental terms during the transition period.
According to Jerry Alexander, director of Liberty Business Centres, Gain a Room is only one of several new companies that have moved into their Dalgety Bay office complex since the start of the year.
“We have had several new and established companies locate to our premises in recent months, which hopefully is a positive reflection on the state of the local economy,” he said.
“Rather than just providing office space, we believe it is essential to ‘add value’ to our range of services so as to attract new businesses. These include the hosting of regular business networking events, as well as the provision of meeting rooms, administrative support and storage facilities.”
